Mr. Mark Overmyer
Mark Overmyer is the
Director of Church Planting for the New England District of the Evangelical
Free Church of America. In this position,
Mark oversees several church planting projects in the New England area. God
has given the district a vision to plant 300 churches in 30 years, so Mark is
focusing on gathering pioneer planters, parent churches and participants in the
church multiplication movement. In
addition, he is a consultant, coach and trainer to church leaders as he focuses
on the principle of multiplication over addition when it comes to church
growth. Prior to serving as Director of
Church Planting, Mark was a church planting pastor for 17 years, first in St.
Paul, Minnesota and then in Portage, Indiana where he was the founding pastor
of Family Bible Church.
Mark holds degrees from Ohio State University [B.S. Metallurgical Engineering, 1980] and Trinity Evangelical
Divinity School [M. Div., 1988]. Mark has been
married for 21 years to Tina, an art educator who works with gifted and
talented elementary students, and they have two daughters. Melissa, 18, is a senior and is currently
deciding where she will go to college. Meredith,
16, is a junior, enjoys languages and cultures, and is looking forward to
traveling internationally.
