Guest: Arline Isaacson, Co-Chair, Massachusetts Gay and Lesbian Political Caucus. Tickets are available on line at www.teinetwork.com

2. October Seminars

The first seminar is for those in ministry to Hindus who might be interested in meeting together with other leaders on October 11 from 9Am to 1PM.  Anyone interested can contact Paul Reid (hicpaul@rcn.com). This will be a presentation of relevant ideas and strategies for reaching Hindus and an open discussion of these things.

The second one is a one-day seminar on Buddhism.  It will take place on Monday, October 13th from 9am- 3 pm at Hope International Church in Waltham, MA.  This is designed for people who are trying to reach Buddhists or would be interested in reaching Buddhists.  The assumption of the seminar is that an understanding of Buddhism helps us to explain the Gospel to Buddhists, as well help in winning a genuine hearing of the Gospel.  See attached brochure for more information.

3.  Bridgeport Bible Fellowship Back-To-School Project

Dear Friend in Ministry,

Thank God for the opportunity to serve Him and His people…

With school about to begin, many parents and grandparents are struggling providing basic necessities for their household, getting clothes and back to school supplies for their kids.  I'm hoping that families can somehow enjoy the balance of the summer and have positive family memories as family time becomes more and more critical for our culture.  We're living in a time when biblically-based family values are continuously under attack.

The I CARE Ministry has perhaps never been needed more.  We need to continue and intensify going door to door to offer prayer, helping to meet basic needs.  The economic woes are hitting this City of poor and poor working class very roughly.  We have within our own church many who have lost jobs or are outright struggling to keep roof over their heads, pay utility cost, food and gas like we haven't seen before.  Our offering plate has been very low.  Yet within the past two weeks 10 souls have opened their heart to receive Christ.

The summer months especially August are hardest for the ministry financially.  Very little support from our friends and we often experience a downfall in our financial support this time of year.  Backing off is not an option when you're “pressing in” to what God has called you to do.  I certainly don't want to give any victory to the enemy…and I don't believe you do either.

I write this note today to ask you to consider a special summer support gift for our work.  Your love, prayers and financial support are critical to our work at this time.   Would you consider sending a love gift for our I CARE Outreach Ministry and secondly consider committing to join us for at least one I CARE Outreach Saturdays this fall (see website bulletin board for schedule).

Your summer gift of $25, $50, $100, $500 or more today will enable us to “stay the course” during these times and keep all of our outreaches moving forward.  It is a privilege to share this ministry with you.  Please make your tax-deductible checks payable to Bridgeport Bible Fellowship Church at the above post office box.

I pray you will enjoy your summer days, finding time for family and times of refreshing and recharging your body and spirit.

God Bless you as you give,

 Pastor Rob Turner
